Ditch the store-bought caesar salad dressing, and whip up my mouthwatering Spicy Caesar Dressing. Homemade caesar salad dressing doesn’t compare to the ones on the shelf (if you know, you know!). Garlic, anchovy paste, lemon juice, parmigiano-reggiano, and a generous scoop of Calabrian chili peppers make up this creamy dressing.

With more than 15 million views and tons of 5 star reviews, Johnny B’s Caesar Dressing is one of the most visited recipes on my blog. Since you all went absolutely wild for that one, I knew I needed to share another version; and this Spicy Caesar Dressing is just as delicious.

Sammy’s Spicy Caesar Dressing tips

  1. Use anchovy paste, rather than whole anchovies. It makes it much easier and the flavour is 10/10.
  2. Be sure to use a high quality imported parmigiano-reggiano from Italy. The cheese makes all the difference in this recipe, and the other kinds won’t taste as good.
  3. I use 4 large garlic cloves because I loooove me some garlic, but feel free to scale down the garlic and use 2 large cloves if you want less of a kick.

Why you should make homemade caesar salad dressing over store-bought

Freshness: spicy caesar dressing uses fresh ingredients, which results in a significantly better tasting dressing.
Customization: you can adjust the flavours to your liking (ie: more or less garlic).
No unnecessary ingredients: no added preservatives or artificial flavouring.
Cost effective: cheaper than store-bought varieties.
Time: this recipe takes less than 10 minutes to make.
